Why this is expensive by hand

Contract review is where hourly cost and inconsistency meet. In practice it shows up as first-pass commercial review: triage an inbound contract to red, amber and green before legal time is spent on the clauses that matter. It is the kind of work that decides whether a recommendation survives scrutiny — and the kind that quietly eats 2–3 hours of senior time whenever it comes round.
